EMG 40P Bass Pickup

The EMG 40P is an active P-style bass pickup in a 4-inch (101.6 mm) extended soapbar housing. EMG's official installation guide lists the 40P for five-string basses or narrow-spaced six-string basses.

It uses ceramic magnets in a split-coil configuration. Before ordering, compare the manufacturer's installation drawing with your instrument's pickup cavity and string spacing. EMG specifies a maximum recommended string width of 3 inches (76.2 mm) across the 40 series.
